This bag is in beautiful and very clean condition and the very unusual premium quality silky smooth and strong calf leather lining is in truly excellent and very clean condition.

This high class classic handbag is in excellent vintage condition and the interior really has to be seen and felt to be believed.

The lizard leather is smooth and shows no cracks pr damage.There are a few superficial gentle creases which have not resulted in any raising of the scales aren’t really noticeable in use.

The handle is in excellent flexible strong condition and isn’t bent out of shape.

The brass clip fastening has darkened due to oxidation as is normal with age but is very robust and works perfectly.The rest of the brass frame is gleaming bright.

Handmade by top specialist craftsmen and it shows both in the overall quality and the important small details like the strong rope reinforcement inside the lizard leather handle,the 4 brass studs to protect the bag if you put it down on the floor,the lizard leather trim on the pockets and of course that marvellous luxurious hard wearing calf leather lining.

Riviera was one of the top names in high end English handbag manufacturing from the 1930s to the 1970s and this would have been top of the range for this style of bag.These designs were retailed in Harrods.
