Original family ownership’s
vintage, handmade, circa 1930’s, Ferguson Brothers Manufacturing Company (Hoboken,
NJ), solid finished mahogany, colonial/spindle style, magazine rack with manufacturer’s
label / mark # 524 (see photograph). CONDITION: VERY GOOD+. The rack’s
construction remains tight and sturdy, stands upright with no wobbling or
instability. Its original finish has remained rich and attractive. The two (2) outside
17” wide borders / edges are the only areas with marks and scraps (see close-up
photographs).

Background:
The Ferguson Brothers
Manufacturing Company made furniture in Hoboken, NJ from 1898 to 1953. They
were family owned until being acquired by Sun-Glo Industries and operations
were moved to Virginia. The company had a corporate office in Manhattan located
at No.1 Park Avenue.
