Rare Tiny 3¾" Salesman Sample

c.1912 Ladies' Low-Cut Leather Shoes

Original Antique Salesman Sample

[   FEATURES AND DETAILS...   ]

Very unusual and hard to come by

These are not doll shoes. We also run an antique doll business. These shoes would not fit any style of antique doll, because dolls' feet are much wider--not proportional to human feet.

What you have is a pair of black leather salesman sample ladies' shoes from right around 1912, when these low-cut "mannish" shoes were in style.  Though they have no maker's marks, the workmanship is clearly that of a master craftsman (cobbler).  In fact, it's even better, because the maker had to create this pair of miniature shoes with delicate and incredibly precise cutting and stitching.  Notice the perfect seams and the quality of craftsmanship on the leather soles, stacked heels, leather insoles, cloth liner inside the vamp, and silk band inside the throat (silk has age loss).

ALSO INCLUDED are the three printed pages as pictured: two copies of catalog pages from c.1912 (one Sears & Roebuck, and the other Radcliffe) showing similar ladies' shoes of the era; and one print of a photo that shows an actual pair (not salesman sample) of similar ladies' shoes being sold by another online seller

Amazing and rare!

Photo props not included: Pepsi, Coins, Rulers

[   CONDITION...   ]

- Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.

- No damage, only typical age issues: some surface craquelure to the leather and age loss to silk parts.

- The laces are lost to time.

- There is a bit of very old adhesive on the bottom of one sole, on close examination.  It seems to be easily removable, but I'll let you decide whether to leave it or remove it.
