This Primary Mirror assembly was found in our Engineering lot from the estate of a collector of vintage Ham Radio, Test Equipment, etc.

We don't know much about telescopes but found some techniques to determine the focal length which appears to be approximately 40-42 inches - this may be incorrect since we are not 100% sure of that measurement technique.

The writing on the side resembles NSIN numbers so this may be from a military application.

Barrel is 17-5/8 inches long and measure 16 inches in diameter at the base and the lip on the top measures 16-5/8 inches in diameter.

The Base plate that the Mirror assembly is attached to is 3/8 of an inch thick and 16 inches in diameter.

Height of the mirror assembly is 4-1/2 inches.
Diameter of the frame surrounding the mirror is 14-7/8 inches.
The visible portion of the mirror is 13-1/2 inches in diameter.

Shipping is likely expensive because of the size of this item.
If you do not want the barrel and just want the mirror assembly, shipping would be less - contact us before purchasing if that is what you want to do.

Previously used condition with scuffs, scratches and marker writing on the barrel. Mirror is pretty nice with barely noticeable fine scratches.

This is an item is from a huge collection of vintage ham radio, test equipment, parts and camera equipment we are currently processing.  We have many manuals, Ham Radios, thousands of test equipment and associated parts and pieces.  It will take us approximately 2-5 years to process this recently purchased estate - yes, there is a lot for us to handle.

The previous owner was a Ham Radio operator who collected all of these interesting items over the years.  He really focused on purchasing equipment from special surplus auctions at the Nevada Test Site, Sandia Labs, Nellis Air Force Base, Kirtland Air force Base, etc.  Many of the items we have are from EG&G, Department of Energy, NASA, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Army.  The previous owner kept notes on nearly everything as it seemed to be his life-long hobby to collect, test, and document everything he owned.

We typically ship within one business day!  International buyers are responsible for any customs/duty fees.

We use high quality shipping supplies and biodegradable peanuts to make sure your items arrive safely.
Some equipment will be contracted for professional packing and shipping by Las Vegas Craters, UPS or FedEx Ground.

Manufacturing technology was not the same as it is today so imperfections should be expected.
Also, these items may have been in storage for 40-80 years and could be dusty, greasy or have surface rust, spider webs, etc.

Customers in Alaska, Hawaii, APO and US Protectorates (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa and Northern Mariana Islands) need to contact us for shipping quotes before ordering due to the cost of parcel packages shipped via UPS and FedEx Ground.
