A beautiful fine and very rare Milk jug by renowned Georgian silversmith, Hester Bateman.
A wonderful Georgian jug, with sharp floral design and with a scroll handle, 
‘Punch beed’ rim and standing on a circular pedestal base. 
The jugs interior has a wonderful coverage of gilding, polished and immaculately clean & hygienic. 
Has two engraved Initials CG ( I think) in old english script, situated in an cartouche under the spout of the jug. 

An absolutely beautiful price, very rare and highly collectable by the renowned Georgian Silversmith ‘Hester Bateman’ London. 
This stunning jug is 240 years of age, remarkable to find one in this condition. 

Fully hallmarked on the exterior of the Jug.

HB : Lion Passant : London Assay Office : k : Duty 
Hallmarks are rubbed especially the duty mark, however readable ( duty mark nearly gone )

Condition 
Exceptional condition.
The exterior is free from nasty dents, dints or scratches, splits or breaks. 
The interior has a wonderful coverage of gilding and in lovely polished & clean condition, does have two initials engraved ( CG ) in old english script. 
Some Hallmarks are rubbed but readable with the exception of the duty mark which is nearly gone.
Pedestal base is true and straight, without any wobbles. 
Free from any damage or old repairs, 
A beautiful example of very old Georgian Solid sterling silver.


There maybe some very fine marks commensurate with age, however they would be very minor.

Very rare and highly collectable would make a great addition to any collection.
