TRIUMPH TIGER TR7 750 RV - originally exported to USA and brought back to the UK in 1993. Logbook correctly states manufacture as 1976 with historic status so no MOT or Tax. It is matching engine/frame numbers which are right for the export model.

At some point it was changed to UK spec with period tank, bars, fork gaiters

Mileage is 17,897 miles which I believe is genuine based on engine condition (see below) and old MOTs with only 3 former owners.

I bought the bike in 2018 and it had been stored for 15 years (last MOT 2003 at 17,837 miles) so the cosmetic condition was poor, but the engine sounded good and it seemed to be an honest, unmolested bike.

ENGINE
Head and barrels removed which confirmed still on original bores with little wear to piston/bores - even the rings were still within manufacturers tolerance. Decoke and valves ground in with new gaskets on top end.
Bottom end not touched as quiet with no knocks or rattles from mains/big ends.
Gearbox just change of oil as all 5 gears select cleanly. Clutch stripped and cleaned with very little apparent wear.
Carb overhauled with Amal kit and new fuel lines.
New plugs, leads and all oils/filters changed or cleaned.
Boyer electronic ignition was already fitted so I have just left.

FRAME
The frame and swinging arm stripped back to bare metal and 3 coats of anti rust primer applied with one coat of Hammerite Smooth Black applied in a heated garage with a very fine brush. Although a few sags due to the amount of paint applied, I think a very acceptable finish. This was chosen as the nearest to period and easy to touch up.
All cycle parts given a similar treatment.

EXHAUST
Complete new system  - exhaust pipes, balance pipe, silencers, chrome stays, finned clamps. All British made and Peashooters chosen over standard as personal preference.

WHEELS
Front wheel rebuilt with stainless rim as the chrome on the original Dunlop was too far gone.
The original Dunlop rear retained as the chrome generally good apart from one patch as shown in the photos.
New tyres - Avon Speedmaster front and Bridgestone Classic rear (this was aleady on the bike when I bought it) with new tubes/tapes.

BRAKES
New Girling complete front master cylinder with reservoir and brake lever.
New Girling complete rear slave cylinder.
Both front and rear calipers rebuilt with new seals and stainless pistons.
New flexis front and rear with new rigid pipe rear.

OTHER
New Lucas headlamp shell and rim with new Lucas headlaight unit.
New Lucas indicators - full set.
New petrol cap
New clock mounting brackets and chrome fork shrouds.
New speedo, throttle and clutch cables.
Original workshop manual plus print out of replacement parts and owners manual from CD

I tried to source best quality parts either branded or UK made. The build was to have a useable bike rather than a museum piece.
I have not used the bike due to other commitments and it has just been stored in my garage for the last couple of years so it is time to sell.

Please note I have not ridden the bike, apart from a brief ride down the lane to check everything worked - it did, since the rebuild was completed.
The new owner will need to do minor checks/adjustments once the bike is ridden.
It needs a horn fitting and I noticed when starting the bike today that the front indicators and rear light have stopped working - I guess a loose connection/bad earth.

This is a no reserve auction with I believe a fair statrting price.
No buy it now, no offers, no part exchanges as auction will run its course.
