Original 1st Edition hand-coloured Geological Map Fife & Kinross Sheet 32, covering the Kirkcaldy, Dysart, Gallatown, Thornton and Wemyss areas, on a scale of Six Inches to One Statute Mile.

The map was geologically surveyed by the pioneers of the British Geological Survey, Henry Hyett Howell and Sir Andrew Crombie Ramsay, and published in 1862 by Sir Roderick Impey Murchison (Director General).

The map is printed on thick parchment type paper and measures approximately 91cm x 61cm, with titles, notes, legends and scale bar on the wide margins. The whole sheet measures approximately 97cm x 66cm. The map itself is in very good condition, although it has a few small tears around the edges (see photos).

It is ideal for framing and would be of interest to local historians/collectors.
