Blue and white Nanking export ware. The design is a pagoda, with water in the front and mountains as background, a sycamore tree near the pagoda.

“In this teapot there is a twist on the motif coming from a poem written in the Tang dynasty by Do Moo 杜牧 (803－852), 清明時節雨紛紛，路上行人欲斷魂。借問酒家何處有？ 牧童遙指杏花村。 清明節 is a day in the first week of April, Chinese people would go to ancestor's grave to clean up the weeds. The elder scholar after the graveside cleaning up, while overwhelmed by the sadness, he asked the boy on the water buffalo's back, "where can I find a bar?". The boy pointed to the almond blossom village.”
