Caithness Glass hollow fishing float with engraved with a single seagull and seashell top produced by Caithness Glass in the 1970's-80's. Perhaps a very limited edition Caithness Glass item, I have not found any images of a fishing float on Caithness website or by searching online. With a Caithness box. Size is approx. 10 inches or 25.5 cm. in circumference. Weighs 12.8 ounces or 365 grams. Not signed or marked. It is in excellent used condition. It is a beautiful work of art glass with soft blue waves around the base raising to the middle of the float.

Re provenance :Ten years ago I had correspondence with a Caithness collector about this glass float who contacted Caithness Glass and received a reply from Helen MacDonald, senior designer that this glass float is one of a series of hollow engraved 'fishing floats' made in the late 1970's or early 1980's.
