This lot features a fantastic piece of Civil War history- an authentic flag fragment from Admiral David Farragut’s flagship, the USS Hartford that earned fame and immortality during the 1864 Battle of Mobile Bay.  

This piece is housed in a custom Riker mount that features an image of Admiral Farragut on the rigging of the USS Hartford during this most critical battle.  

This piece will be accompanied by an ironclad letter of authenticity from University Archives signed by one of the leading authenticators in the industry, John Reznikoff.  This piece was also featured in the book, Through the Eyes of Maine: An Account of the American Civil War, 1859-1862.
