Original 1st Edition hand coloured Geological Map Renfrewshire Sheet 16, covering the Neilston and Newton Mearns areas, on a scale of Six Inches to One Statute Mile.

The map was geologically surveyed by the pioneers of the British Geological Survey, Edward Hull, Sir Archibald Geikie and his brother James, and published 1870 by Sir Roderick Impey Murchison (Director General).

The map is printed on linen backed thick paper and measures approximately 91cm x 61cm, with titles, notes and scale bar on the wide margins. The whole sheet measures approximately 98cm x 67cm and has been trimmed. The map is generally in very good condition (see photos).

It is ideal for framing and would be of interest to local historians/collectors.
