A gauge 1 steam locomotive to Martin Evans’ Newbury design, a nice simple meths-fired 4-4-0 of freelance outline.

Two outside cylinders with slip eccentrics driving slide valves inside the frames. Smithies boiler with six-wick meths burner supplied from tender which also has a hand pump for boiler feed.

This particular engine appears to be a fair age, it runs but could undoubtedly be improved with care. The paint is poor: a thick coat of black over a luminous green. An ideal project.
