Shimano XTR Triple Chainset

FC-M970 M9 (AA matched set) SG-X 44/32/22 175mm crank arms

M970 was the last XTR parent group to be built purely around a triple Chainset.

The cranks are pre used with some minor cosmetic imperfections from their previous fit up/usage

The super shiney anodised crank faces are fully intact, both logos are present undamaged and un faded. There's a mark under the logo on the left hand arm and a little scratch/scuff above the Shimano Logo on the right hand arm. The ends and crank edges are all in pretty good condition. (Please see photos)

The hard nickel coating on the main ring is fully intact except for one tooth where a little bit has chipped off. (Only the coating NOT the tooth)

The middle titanium ring is in excellent condition, the inner/granny ring is also in very good condition without any deformation or wear to the teeth only a bit of chain rub/polishing on the outer flanks. (See photos)

The oversized pre load cap looks a bit messy! It's only the outer edge though, the internal hex is still fully intact. (Nothing to do with me!)

The locking collar and its little Ti clamping bolt are all present and undamaged.

(An additional tool is required if you want to use the PL cap to push the LH arm off the spindle spines, it's not really necessary, (IMO) but a nice touch all the same.)

The 970 series crankset was the only one (until recently) built like this with a solid un slit LH arm, locking collar and self extracting capability.

This was one of the first chainsets to utilise chainrings with their redesigned tooth profiles and a different plating/coating process on the chainrings.
