This rare advertising piece was crafted exclusively for Pernod Ricard, a renowned French company celebrated for its anise-flavored pastis aperitifs, Pernod Anise and Ricard Pastis. The company is also the world's second-largest wine and spirits seller.
This meticulously crafted silver-plated bronze sculpture depicts a marathon runner holding a laurel banderole above its head marked, 'RICARD ANISETTE.' On the bottom, it is marked Creation Engreval S.A., Fabrique en France. The figure is standing on a stepped square black metal base. This piece, possibly used as a bottle holder, is a testament to its creators' artistry and attention to detail.
