They are also known to be good tick and bug eaters. Guinea fowl are hard to sex by site but males and females do make two different distinct calls.

Note about Pictures

Unless stated otherwise, all pictures are of my own making of my own animals. You will not receive exactly what is pictured unless you by my hand blown eggs since pictured eggs are discarded due to excessive handling for pictures.

Viability

Our eggs are fresh and collected throughout the day. They are sent unwashed and within 24 hours of being laid.

We hatch the eggs we sell, like you, we want the greatest number of successful hatches possible. We check for fertility by cracking open the morning eggs to see if they are viable. If not, we make adjustments until we get it right. You do not pay for the learning curve. We have no problem sending those eggs to the farmers market to eat, eating them ourselves, feeding them back to the birds or donating them to our local food bank. Heck you can find hand blown eggs on my website where the Roosters were swapped up because their fertility rate was too low or some other issue. I didn’t want to toss pretty eggs but couldn’t hatch or sell to hatch so I drained them and gave the egg contents to the animals and cleaned the shell for crafts. Our animals are all fed organic, chemical-free, feed I’m not wasting but I’m also not passing off something to you that may not be the best it can be.

Shipping

We ship hatching eggs Monday through Saturday, depending on when the hens lay. We strive to ship within 24 hours of the egg being laid.Eggs that are older than 48 hours go in the incubator, to the farmers market or the food bank. We don’t have the ability to store and keep eggs.

Due to shipping delays by the USPS we now ship eggs via UPS at no cost to you. If you prefer USPS please notate in the comments but we will no longer send replacements when you select this option and your order is delayed. The option is available for expedited USPS mail at an additional charge. USPS Priority is not guaranteed and it can take longer than 1-3 days for you to receive your package. Only Express Mail guarantees delivery within 2-3 days depending on your location.

We are unable to ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico through our eBay listings.

Delivery

To reduce the amount of handling and extremes of temperature the eggs experience en route, which increases the viability of your eggs, we recommend you opt for “CALL ON ARRIVAL.” We can indicate on the label that you be called on arrival to pick up at your local post office rather than send with the carrier.  This information isn’t always seen by the carrier and the eggs are delivered to the physical shipping address but calling or stopping by your local post office to let them know the package is coming helps greatly.

If you wish for your order to be held for pick up at the Post Office, please indicate so in the check out instructions along with your phone number.

Insurance

This item includes shipping USPS Priority Mail at no additional charge. While many of you know that these packages are automatically insured up to $100 what isn’t clear is their policy on hatching eggs which is as follows:

“Coverage is not provided for consequential losses, delay, spoilage of perishable items or prohibited articles.”

You can buy insurance for an additional fee on perishable items. “However, the claim will not be paid if the item is spoiled.” This can all be found on the USPS web site under the FAQ section. If you would like insurance purchased we are happy to do so, at your expense, and work with you to file the claim in the event it is needed.

Buyer Requirements

If you have a zero feedback rating on eBay do not bid on my auctions. Your bid will be cancelled. You can feel free to purchase through my website. We also reserve the right to cancel orders from buyers with negative feedback or who may be scammers.

Returns

Due to the nature of the product we are unable to accept returns or cancellations on order placed through eBay. We are not able to guarantee your hatch rate. Your hatch rate could be zero or all the eggs, including the “just in case” extra, could hatch. If you want a guaranteed number of chicks delivered to your door you will need to order through our website beginning in April 2024. You assume the risk of shipped eggs.

Delayed Shipments

Eggs are shipped across multiple states and transferred from truck to truck. Sometimes it isn’t even the right truck. The postal service can take longer than expected and just because the package is late does not mean your eggs won’t hatch. If your eggs are in transit for longer than 9 days we will replace them with another shipment of eggs but are unable to refund the purchase.

For example, the day I have it scanned at the post office for drop off is day one (let’s say May 1st) the day it is delivered to your home or local post office is the final day (lets say May 9th).This would not be eligible for replacement. If the package had taken one more day to arrive it would have been replaced. If you refused delivery or were unable to pick it up at the post office they will not be replaced. We have no control over the post office and we do offer an upgrade to Express Mail at an additional cost. If they are not delivered by the promised time they refund your shipping. As of this posting, Express Mail ranges from $28 - $72 based on zip code.

Damaged Shipments

We include additional eggs when possible to account for the possibility of damage during shipping. If you order from a listing that says “5+”it means you are paying for FIVE but I have included some extra “just in case”.If your eggs arrive from a “5+” and there are 6 eggs in the box but one is cracked then you have received what you ordered. If three in the order are cracked we will send a replacement for just the broken eggs. We will only do this one time and you will need to submit pictures of the box and eggs. Take a picture of the box before you open it.

They have arrived!

Once your eggs arrive let them “rest” inside in a cart on with the pointy end down largest end up. Do not put cold eggs into an incubator they will crack. Some clients have claimed that they get a better hatch rate, on shipped eggs, when they wait 48 hours instead of 24 to set them in an incubator. While I will be buying shipped eggs this spring to experiment on this there is no conclusive evidence and the norm is 12-24 hours.

I live in Alabama, where it is extremely humid, I collect the eggs throughout the day and transfer them to a climate controlled room (with40% relative humidity) where they are either packed and shipped or set to hatch. Even with this limited time before leaving it is possible your eggs will have a smaller air cell than eggs produced in more arid climates. You should adjust your incubating settings accordingly for your method of incubation. My personal preference is dry hatching.

Feedback

Please leave feedback based on things I can control, including:communication, packaging of the eggs, condition the eggs were shipped/received and speed of delivery to the post office. Leaving feedback based on a poor hatch rate implies the incubating process and conditions and shipping have no role in the outcome.

Before leaving negative feedback, talk to me first. I am very reasonable to work with.
