I do not know the origin of this very old hand mirror. I do know it is antique although do not have an exact time frame. It even smells VERY old! The carved wood frame clearly shows chipped paint and has a crack, and the mirror has discoloration but no chips or cracks. The woman in the picture is attributed to Giovanni Ambrogio de Predis and may depict Beatrice d’ Este or Anna Maria Sforza. The Original painting “Portrait of a Lady” c. 1490 is in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan Italy. The image on the mirror is a print so it clearly dates later. Measures 20.5 l x 8” w.
