This is a truly magnificent example of a Guerrero Amethyst Geode. This specimen showcases excellent double terminations as well as an incredible "bow tie" cross section. The crystals are easily identifiable as Guerrero due to the frosty clear/white quartz engulfing the beautiful purple core with a cascade of points leading to the base/intersections of the crystals. When observed in bright lighting the color ranges from a deep purple to a red plum color. Guerrero Amethyst specimens are already a very sought after and rare find due to the surrounding area being controlled by the cartel which has left the mine entirely inaccessible. Having a Guerrero with such a fine matrix, let alone a geode filled with Calcite covered Quartz points, is exceedingly rare to come by. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect specimen as there are a few broken points scattered around the piece; however, it is still a world class example of a Guerrero Amethyst Geode that any collector would be thrilled to show off in their collection.
