The “Pro”— has been beefed up in strategic areas to give it the CE “A” certification. It’s been given extra hidden layers of abrasion-resistant fabric at the elbow and shoulders, and the entire garment passes the new stricter standard. That of course includes D3O Evo X Level 1 shoulder and elbow armor. And each has a pocket ready for a D3O back protector* (sold separately).
The outer shell is made from British Millerain 10oz waxed cotton—touched off nicely with corduroy accents at the cuff and collar.
The jacket comes with a full waxed cotton belt, which can be buckled down to keep the draft out, or tied loosely behind when you want it out of the way. It has a matching throat latch when it’s time to batten down all the hatches and ride into the wet and cold.
Pop the armor out of this jacket in seconds and wear it over a sweater or out to the bar—it’ll keep you dry and safe our on the town as well as on the bike.
The main two-way zipper is stepped—meaning it stops a good measure above the hem of the coat. This allows for the splay required to comfortably throw one’s leg over a saddle. Also it sports thoughtfully rubberized lower buttons to protect your bike’s precious paintwork.
And while this is a timeless jacket best served black, it’s also offered in a limited olive green color, which also promises to age beautifully through its (and your) lifetime.
