* I am told by the former owner that this was originally used on the front desk at an old, long-defunct hotel...

* No date or other markings...

* Looks to be a mix of Cast Iron & Brass... 

* The metal base is the only thing magnets stick to... 

* WORKS (see video)... Not like it did when new; sticks a bit... 

* Relatively heavy for its size...

* Base is 2-3/4" square... Roughly 4-3/4" tall...

USED... Works; but sticks a bit... Exterior has plentiful tarnish and fine scratching. Stem looks to be set in somewhat crookedly or bent. The finish is worn off the bottom edge of the base in places. Sits perfectly flat. Very sturdy piece.
