MIRIAM HASKELL 50’s ROPE LARIAT & DANGLE EARRINGS:  Emerald Green Poured Glass Beads Green Rose Montée Gold Gilt Filigree Brass Accents

For your consideration, an absolutely gorgeous single string/strand rope lariat necklace  and matching dangle earrings designed and handmade for Miriam Haskell CIRCA in the 1950's.

The necklace is designed with round emerald green poured glass beads 8 – 10mm.  The beads are accentuated by tiny emerald green spacer beads.

Attached to both ends of the necklace  are large tassel dangles of gold gilt filigree beads and brass caps which are jewel encrusted with hand wired emerald green rose montée.  The end of each tassel has a round emerald green poured glass bead which is approximately 14mm and capped with a gold gilt brass filigree cap.

The necklace is fairly long and can be worn draped with other necklaces or wrapped around the neck at least 3 times maybe 4 times if your neck measurement is no more than 15”.  The dangles can be worn to the front as  pendants, at the side or at the back of neck.  It can also be wrapped around the wrist several times and worn as a bracelet.

It is a lariat, so it has no fastening.  The necklace is signed on an oval hang tag which is signed “MIRIAM HASKELL”.  The signature is embossed and shown on the underside of the tag as well.  Haskell pieces CIRCA 1950’s were hallmarked with these embossed hang tags.

The matching dangle earrings  have gold gilt brass filigree heads and  a dangle of two emerald green poured glass beads one of which is accentuated by gold gilt brass bead caps.  The earrings fasten with lever back clips with screws.  The earrings are both double signed, “MIRIAM HASKELL “ on the underside and “HASKELL” on the ridge of the lever back mechanism.

The pieces all have a good solid weight and the design is exquisitely beautiful with the look and feel of real gold, and semi-precious gems.    The beads and brass findings used in construction of the necklace are of the best quality and contribute to its smooth finish, exquisite beauty and well preserved condition.  It will appreciate in value over the years if gently worn and carefully stored.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT: All measurements are approximate and taken at longest/widest points.

Necklace ~ 54½”L end to end and includes the tassel dangles.     It weighs 156 grams.

Earrings ~ 2½”L x 1”W x 1” in thickness.  Each earring weighs 11 grams

CONDITION: Please note this is pre-owned 1950's vintage jewelry which has been gently worn.  It originally belonged to a relative and has been in storage in a dust free and temperature controlled storage facility since I received it  in 1970’s.  It is in very good preserved condition and looks like new.

The findings of the necklace and earrings are all original and fairly well preserved. There is very little tarnish on  the gold gilt brass findings.   The emerald green poured glass beads are well preserved with no cracks, bruises or chips. The rose montée  are also well preserved, and there are no missing stones.   The threading of the necklace  has no fraying or stretching.  The earring backs fit snug and the screws adjust easily to for a comfortable and secure fit.

Please note that tarnish and patina are part of the nature of brass and this develops over time.  Additionally, REMEMBER, THAT MOST  VINTAGE PIECES ARE FRAGILE DUE TO AGE and should be gently worn  and  handled with care.
