Listing is for a very rare, and I mean a VERY RARE, jasperware insert that would have accompanied a Wedgwood jasperware Fern Dish. The intention of the insert was to prevent root rot, but it also works in modern day pieces as a frog of sorts.

No marks because these pieces weren’t marked. The screenshot of the basalt bowl shows the identical flower frog.

I believe this is a 19th century piece, but it would also work with the 20th century centerpiece bowls.

6 1/4” diameter with a height of 2 1/2”.

Excellent condition with age appropriate wear from its intended use as a flower frog. No cracks or chips, some rust.
