Item up for bid is an impressive vintage Remington Rand typewriter with a model number of 5. This piece was found with it's original case and will come with the case. Typewriter is marked on the interior with a serial number of N-13587-2. We attempted to test this piece and can report that paper rolled into place as it should with roller and carriage both functioning as intended. All keys struck and returned when tested with the exception of the J key which stuck and had to be manually returned. Black painted metal body shows paint and finish wear with surfaces showing some soiling. All unpainted metal shows tarnish and patina consistent with age and could use a polish. Entire piece could use a detail cleaning and polish. Item was paper tested and no marks were left on the paper so item wil require a new ribbon to function as intended. Right side of the metal body shows an original label from the original owner which shows wear. Back side of the unit has a Remington Rand label. Typewriter itself measures 12-1/2" front to back by 12-1/4" wide across the carriage by 5-3/8" from highest to lowest point.

Original case is present and shows interior and exterior soiling and patina with exterior showing surface wear and loss. Leather handle is present and shows patina and surface wear / loss. Case surfaces show some peeling of the surface material with. Metal hardware shows tarnish and patina. Case measures 13-3/8" top to bottom (not including handle) by 13-1/8" wide by 6-1/4" in depth.
