Antique Seminole Palm Doll

This antique Seminole Doll was made as a tourist item during the era of train travel. She is unusually tall! This was simply made of natural palm fiber and is dressed in cotton fabric. Her face is embroidered & she wears an old fashioned sunbonnet & blue glass beads. The body is basically a tall cone of loosely stitched natural palm fiber that seems to be stuffed with paper. The doll is draped in two tiers of machine stitched ruffles as a cape and skirt. This costume is  elaborately sewn in simple stripes of color: rusty orange, deep burgundy, grey & cream. This measures approx 9.75" H  x 4.75" W x 4.75" D.

Very Good Condition! There are some light watermarks on one side of the skirt, as found. (Has not been cleaned.) There is loss to the fiber on the base.
