Pierce invented a new type of chronograph movement - with a vertical clutch and a friction disc. This caliber (named '130') was sold for the first time around 1931/1932. It features a central stopping second and a sixty minute counter (an important advertising point as most chronographs at the time counted only up to thirty minutes).
Watches with this caliber always have one pusher, and the sub dials for the indicator second and the minute counter are of equal size. Early watches feature Breguet hands (like on the sample below), later they were delivered with the lancet-type hands featuring on most Pierce
