Up for sale, a 1967 Hagstrom Viking V1 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced from 1965-72, this Swedish semi-hollow model has been played by artists including Frank Zappa, Pat Smear, and Elvis, who famously played the upscale V2 iteration during his televised 1968 Comeback Special.

Tonewoods include a maple body, maple neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, and this guitar is featherweight at 6lbs 2oz. The original “Super-Sensitive” single coil pickups have a percussive cut, overarching balance and nice midrange bump that yields a distinctive presence and authority in a mix. The neck pickup has a full, throaty zing, and the bridge pickup delivers snap and sweet growl. This Viking has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
