Vintage King Brunswick Red Crown Bowling Pin / ABC Approved / 100% Wood.

This is an original bowling pin from Bowling City in Honolulu, Hawaii, when it was established in November, 1955. Bowling City was a Brunswick Crown Imperial type alley, sanctioned by the ABC & PBA. It eventually became one of the most popular bowling alleys and sports meccas in Hawaii. It became a stop on the PBA tour with the Winston-Salem Invitational Championship. The most iconic match came in later years in 1974, when Mike McGrath defeated Earl Anthony, 247-218 to defend his title.

This bowling pin is a piece of Hawaii bowling history, as coming from the days of semi-automatic Brunswick pinsetters. Obviously, this pin has been well-used through the 1950s & 1960s and it certainly looks the part. It was a very sad day, when Bowling City closed its doors and was demolished in the late-1970s.
