MIRIAM HASKELL 2-PIECE SUITE: BROOCH & EARRINGS GOLD GILT BRASS CLOVER W BAROQUE PEARL

For your consideration a wonderful 2 piece suite created for Haskell CIRCA 1970's.    The set comprises a fabulous brooch and matching pair of clip on dangle style earrings. The findings used in construction of this set are  gold gilt brass; which has been molded and textured,  and the pearls are man-made; they are glass with white pearl nacre. 

The brooch is round wreath designed 3-dimensional designed.  Two layers of  thick textured gold gilt brass 3-leaf clover are hand wired to the filigree base.  Each clover has a tiny 3 x 2 mm white baroque pearl in the center.    The back of the brooch has an oval cartouche tag signed “MIRIAM HASKELL” attached.   The pin opens at an angle 3/4 way. 

 

The earrings are clip-on dangle style earrings.  The head of each earring is a  thick textured gold gilt brass 3-leaf clover with a tiny 3 x 2 mm white baroque pearl in the center.  The setting is similar to that of the brooch. Hanging from each earring is a 10mm white baroque faux pearl.    The earrings fasten with lever back clips with screws which allows for adjustment to how they fit. Both earrings are signed “MIRIAM HASKELL” on the underside, as well as “HASKELL” on the ridge of the lever. 

The beads and findings used in the construction of these pieces are imported and are of the best quality.  The construction is solid and smooth and the pieces all have a good weight.

DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT:  All measurement and weights are approximate 

Earrings ~  Each earring is 1⅛”L x ¾”W x ½” in thickness.  Each earring weighs 4 grams.

Brooch ~ 2 ¼” in diameter x ⅝” in thickness. It weighs 28 grams

 

CONDITION: This is pre-owned vintage jewelry.  It has been gently worn.  The pieces were stored in temperature controlled dust free environment for many years. 

Structurally, the pieces are all well preserved and in excellent vintage condition with minor tarnish on the gold gilt brass finding.  There are no damaged parts, and all parts are original.  The pin of the brooch is sturdy, sharp and straight.  It fits into the roll over latch which fastens securely.  The earrings both have tiny spots of patina around the wiring and under the tiny baroque pearls.  The underside of both earrings also have some  traces of patina due to aging of the brass.  This can be cleaned, but I think it adds to the vintage charm.  It is not distracting or unsightly.   The earring clip backs and screws all fasten securely and easily adjust.  There are no broken, chipped or missing pearls. 

 

PLEASE REMEMBER, THAT MOST  VINTAGE PIECES ARE FRAGILE DUE TO AGE and should be gently worn  and  handled with care.

NOTE: These are part of my personal collection of vintage costume jewelry by Miriam Haskell. It has been in storage for years and may need a small amount of cleaning. Most of my Haskell pieces have been gently worn, a few are unworn. I do not clean my pieces as I am not an expert and some cleaning agents can be corrosive to vintage costume jewelry.
