Details:  Mavericks G Kyrie Irving will honor this year’s Mother’s Day with the release of the ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” colorway, the latest edition of the star’s first signature shoe under the Chinese sportswear brand. The ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” colorway was designed as a tribute to Irving’s late mother Elizabeth. The limited-edition shoe will release exclusively at N.J. boutique Sneaker Room on May 11. The colorway features vibrant primary colors that pull inspiration from the Standing Rock Sioux tribe, which Irving is known to be connected to, with proceeds of the sneaker going towards community outreach initiatives.

The ANTA KAI 1 “Mother’s Day” colorway features the words “Elizabeth” and “Mother” in gold hieroglyphic-style text on the sneaker’s lateral toe and midfoot strap, respectively. The shoe also features similar gold text reading, “In Celebration of”, in the interior. The sneaker is finished with primary colors throughout the white knit upper and mid and gum ladened outsole. ANTA Design Dir Jared Subawon, Color Design Dir Shaneika Warden and Senior Graphic Designer Astin Davis are credited with the look of the sneaker, the sixth colorway under the brand. The lightweight basketball shoe is equipped with a heel stability TPU, carbon plate and a tough outsole with a responsive sole designed for seamless movement on the court.
