Hi everyone! Up for sale today is a VERY RARE SONY VAIO VGN-AW190J LAPTOP PC!!
I have specialized in the AW-series for many years now and still consider them
as my all time favorite laptop model. *This laptop is complete but it seems to have a dead motherboard.* When
the power button is pressed, it lights up green, the optical drive
repeatedly tries to read (indicating that it has failed) and the fan
will spin after a minute or so. It shows no other signs of life and does
not make any beeps when keyboard keys are pressed. I disassembled
the laptop, took the screen apart and oiled the hinges, and gave it a
thorough inspection. It's very rare for a motherboard to fail on these
but that seems to be what happened. Physically,
it has normal wear for its age but looks very good overall. The lid cover has normal light scratches and scuffs but nothing that stands out too much. On the inside, there is normal
surface wear along the top edge of the screen bezel and front edge of
the palmrest, as well as a couple discolored spots near the touchpad. The keyboard looks excellent with very little shine!
The HUGE 18.4" screen has no visible flaws of any sort!
I have no way to verify that the screen works but I saw absolutely no
sign that would indicate any issues with it. Along with the Vaio
itself, you will also receive a genuine Sony 130W power adapter and
battery (untested).
Spec-wise, it features a fast 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 Processor (upgradable to a 3.06GHz T9900),
4GB RAM (8GB max), a 250GB, 7200RPM Hard Drive, dedicated NVIDIA GeForce
9600M GT Graphics Card, BLU-RAY Player/ DVD-RW drive (not working properly), and the GORGEOUS 18.4" X-Brite FullHD Display (1920x1080)!
In addition to those impressive specs, this laptop
also has top-notch build quality,
amazing built-in speakers & SUBWOOFER, and the most comfortable full-size keyboard I've
ever used. It's an awesome laptop for streaming videos,
listening to music, browsing the internet, and just about anything you'd want a
computer for. And for being as large as it is, it is surprisingly slim
and portable. I have not found any other 18-19" laptop that can compete
with the AW and I would recommend them to anyone who likes larger laptops. I've
had many repeat customers for these and everyone I've sold them to absolutely
loves them. I have not found ANY other model (newer or otherwise) that can
compare to these Vaios in terms of screen and audio quality, keyboard and
touchpad quality and overall build/ reliability.
This would be the perfect candidate
for a rebuild and would also be a great buy for someone that just needs a
replacement screen.
