RELISTING DUE TO MY LATE ARRVAL IN U.K. FROM FRANCE, FOR VIEWINGS (my fault!). I will be in Portsmouth international Ferry Port from Tuesday evening, so if anyone wants to look-see, Wednesday on (for a few days, then I’ll be heading up to midlands).

1997 classic campervan with full mot. This is a bit of a 'cutie' with full service history and under 67K miles! Yes, it has warts and all, and a few things that need attention (read on) but built like a tank and perfect for 1 or 2 people. 2 seperate beds which can be joined to make a nice double, with curtaining all around. Nothing digital - all manual (therefore easy to fix, with no nasty electronic sensors!!!) Based on the Renault 5, but has been coachbuilt. In my humble opinion, this is MUCH better than the citroen C15 romahome.

Good points: smaller 1.7 diesel engine which is very economical/cooker/grill/fridge/washbasin/storage space/cupboards/electric hook up/water inlet/solar powered liesure battery/Zig unit/very low mileage/FSH/comes with full rear awning/full mot

Not so good points: Although in remarkably good state for a 27 year old classic, it does have some 'rough edges' (but nothing structural)/needs gearbox mount replaced (it isn't critical but on cold starts it does have a 'shudder' until warm up - easy cheap job/ needs injectors cleaned (5 mins of white-ish smoke on cold start, which clears once warm) and suggest set of glow plugs too.

IMPORTANT: I am bringing this over from France shortly, so it will be available to view/pick up in in Portsmouth (but it will be travelling up to Northampton so happy to stop off en route for you). I have advertised this elsewhere so retain the right to remove if it either sells or I'm made an offer I can't refuse! Log book is with DVLA but I have the new owner's slip. I bought this to sell on as I am not a 'small van man' myself (I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere?)

DEPOSIT OF £100 within 24 hours of winning bid please.

My reserve is ideally at least 2,600. This is not ‘perfect’ and I’ve already mentioned what it needs done, hence a darned good price

Thank you for all the interest shown in the camper. But some folks seem to think this is a new van that has no ‘little idiosyncrasies’…. Sorry to disappoint but of course it has - it’s got some squeaks and age related things you’d expect (things that WD40, silicone spray and the like will help ease your way!)…. please ask questions and accept it is indeed NOT new… but us older humans, with wrinkles and sags have earned our wrinkles and saga: these are what we’ve earned through ageing! This little van is no different. If you’re not sure of anything ask away and I will be as honest as I can. Personally I LIKE older vehicles with all their warts… it’s called ‘character ‘. In my younger days I would set to with sorting some of its little ‘glitches’, but I’m nearly 70 now and will leave this to others. It wouldn’t cost too much at all to correct…. it’d be worth it considering it’s extremely low mileage. Just completed 750 miles through France in it, with no problems.

Just added mileage picture… the odometer shows the miles I’ve done in France, and just arrived in portsmouth this morning…763 miles (trouble free)!

LATEST UPDATE: I will be in Northampton (via Newbury) tomorrow (Thursday), so those of you interested in viewing… could you message me to sort a day/time please? I will then be travelling up to Nottingham on the Saturday if that’s helpful for anyone? I’ve had some very interesting offers/possibilities thrown at me, but please communicate/message. Thanks

I’ve had loads and LOADS of questions (which happy to take/answer)…. and some very weird stuff! Can I just say, cos it’s nearly up - it’s an older car, it needs a wee bit spent (engine mounts: easy job/cheap job), replace injectors (similarly easy), and some cosmetics (eg window liner strip, although functional , could do with replacing (£12 strip off eBay, easy job). I’m selling as it is, so please come and see if you’re not sure, and I can’t drive  it to Zimbabwean territories! Like he’s a 5 minute smoke in the morning then settles nicely for hundeeds and hundeeds of miles. What more can I say. I have a queue of interested folk, so I won’t be offended if you want to give it a pass, but she’s got loads of years of life left in her (unlike myself!!)

Update: I have now picked up the full V5 document. In Notts, just completed 1,016 miles. The ‘other place’ where it is advertised has thrown up some very interesting offers (which I am seriously considering I might add).
