Roseville Pottery in Ohio made numerous lines from 1892 to 1954.  Their Imperial II line was produced circa 1930, with most pieces having blended/drip glazes.

This Imperial II #478-8 handled vase is about 8-1/2 inches tall & about 7-1/2 inches wide handle-to-handle.  The curved handles are about 2-1/2 inches long.  The top rim is about 4-3/4 inches in diameter & the body of the vase tapers down to the bottom base rim that is about 4-1/4 inches in diameter.  There are 5 ribs around the bottom portion of the vase.

As shown in the photos, this vase has an almost iridescent gold/tan glaze at the top, accented with brown drips at the bottom - this would have been done with the glaze dripped while the vase was upside down.  The interior - with rings appearing to be hand-thrown - was finished with the darker brown glaze.

The Imperial II line often had a paper label so it is not unusual to find them unmarked.

While the shape and even the glaze technique on this vase is very much like many of the Southern potteries, the clay color of the bottom is definitely Roseville and this shape is shown in the Imperial II line in Roseville books.

It is in very good antique condition - no chips, hairlines, or crazing.
