A very attractive example of Italian satin art glass produced during the middle part of the twentieth century. An extremely unusual color combination of which I have never seen another example like this one. The cased bowl has a solid olive green interior fused with a bright yellow exterior layer; the actual air trap pattern resembles diamonds arranged in a swirl design visible on the exterior. This spittoon shaped vase sits on three ribbed clear glass feet fused to the body while the glass was still semi molten. A ground pontil visible on the bottom. When light hits this example a faint blue cast shows up on the sides not directly in the path of the direct light beam adding another dimension of beauty.

The piece measures 6 1/2” height to the top of the ruffled rim and spans 7 1/4” across the top. Thorough examination reveals no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. The inside is clean showing no staining from use. I will mention for accuracy that the tips of the applied feet feel slightly rough due to the shearing process when first applied during production. This is a common occurrence due to the tooling of this type of glass and in no way a distraction from the beauty or value. A truly wonderful example in a striking design and hue. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.

Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future.

Thank you.
