This bundle of music hall artist postcards has an interesting history and has been in my family for over 100 years. They were collected by my great grandmother, Emily Skinner, whilst she was in service in Scotland. (The census also records her being in service in Scotland with her husband). Emily though was a Londoner. Nearly all of them have messages, stamps and dates and would appear to have been a hobby for Emily and her friends, all in service, keeping in touch and sending similar cards to and from estates and addresses in Scotland. So not only are the cards interesting for a collector, but the back story is also an added bonus. You can see from the pics that the condition of the cards is mixed. They were framed and mounted for many years by my parents and you can see marks on a number of them from being mounted.
