Bletchley Park houses a top-secret history of World War Two, silenced for decades by the Official Secrets Act. During the War, Britain’s brightest minds — who were to become the Codebreakers —  were recruited to work at Bletchley Park to intercept and decode complex enemy signals. It wasn’t until declassification of wartime information in the 1970s that their secret intelligence work was revealed.

Look closely at the coin design and you will see that implementing an innovative minting technique, the portrait is made entirely from code. Modelled by hand, in minute and exacting detail. The areas of shadow and light are recreated with varying densities of lettering. The reverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the denomination.
