Important (if you intend to use the display ports on this hub)

You MUST check that your device can output video over USB C. Many popular USB C devices cannot do this.
Apple devices: Macbooks are not able to output to multiple displays using this hub. They will just mirror the display on all connected monitors. However, Windows laptops that are capable of video over USB-C will be able to fully extend the desktop across all connected displays.
See the listing images and the information box below for more details.

If you do not intend to use the display ports, you don't need to worry about this. The other ports should work fine with almost all USB C devices.

Further information about video over USB C

(This applies to any USB C hub, cable or adapter that features an HDMI, VGA or DP port or plug)

Not all USB C ports are the same. If you want to use a hub's HDMI, VGA or DP port with your USB C device, it's important to understand that your device needs a certain kind of USB C port that can provide video.

How can I check if my device's USB C port supports video before I order?

Laptops
Check your USB C port for one of these symbols:

(DP) or  (Thunderbolt) = ✓ This USB C port supports video.

(data) or  (power) = ✗ These symbols do not show support for video.
  • If your USB C port is not labelled with either the DP or Thunderbolt symbol, it is unlikely to support video.
  • Most Apple laptops released after 2018 support video over USB C even if the port is not labelled.

Phones
iPhone 15 or newer: ✓
iPhone 14 and older: ✗
Android phones: Check with your manufacturer.

Tablets
iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2021 - 5th gen) or newer: ✓
iPad Pro 11-inch (2021 - 3rd gen) or newer: ✓
iPad 10.9-inch (2022 - 10th gen) or newer: ✓
Other iPads: ✗
Android tablets: Check with your manufacturer.

All devices
Check that the device's manual or support page specifically says DP (DisplayPort) alt mode, Thunderbolt or Video over USB C. If it does not, it is unlikely that your device supports video over USB C. In all cases, check your device's manual or support page if you are not sure. Please only order if you're sure this hub will work in the way you want it to with your device.
