This Cortebert pocket watch blends the best of post WWI practicality with the emerging Deco influence, yielding an exquisite, simple and practical design. It is in great shape for it's age. The movement is a Grade 592 [Yes, that is the movement Rolex used in some watches, as Cortebert were a highly regarded Swiss watchmaker] and although jewel count is not indicated, I believe it is a minimum of 15 Jewels. The watch winds, sets [stem wind/set], runs strong and is keeping good time, as it has been recently serviced. It is cased in a chrome/nickel Deco style case with normal surface scratches and a bit of plate wear to the bezel, but otherwise is in good shape. Case diameter is approx. 49mm. The unrestored, single sunk, matte finish metal dial has radium Arabic indices, a sub-second hand at 6 o'clock and crisp, radium hour and minute hands. The true bevelled glass crystal looks original and has almost no marks. Overall, this is a top drawer, collectable grade, mid-Deco timepiece that will enhance any collection...and a good runner that would make a great regular wearer.....you won't be disappointed!
