For auction is a Victorian brass bound walnut writing slope that is in need of some restoration.
First of all, the good stuff:
- The lock and key works.
- The hinges work.
- There is no woodworm.
Now for the bad stuff:
- There are splits in the wood.
- Some ebony stringing is missing.
- The top left hand corner of the lid has been bashed at some point.
- The catch for holding back the inner top lid as you lift the lid does not work.
- The pen tray is missing.
- There is no inkwell.
- The leather skiver is split
The box measures approx. 30cm in length, 22.5cm wide, 15.3cm high.
