This bid is for a Genuine WW2 Air Raid Precaution (ARP) Handbook No.1 (2^nd Edition) – Personal Protection Against Gas – issued by The Home Office (Air Raid Precaution Department) in 1938 and issued to ‘AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS – CITY OF LINCOLN’ in October 1938, as seen by the picture of the ink stamp stamped on the first page. This 124 page genuine ARP handbook, with many illustrations, was one of a series of ARP handbooks issued to prevent injury or loss of life, aiming to give the best available information at that time. This particular Handbook No.1 covers aspects of properties of different war gasses; methods of gas attack; anti-gas precautions; treatment and decontamination; the fitting of different respirators etc., etc. Measuring 4¼ inches x 6¾ inches x just under ⅜ inch thick, this genuine WW2 handbook is in a fantastic condition, as a matter of fact, the binding is so tight that if I tried to open the pages for taking pictures, it would damage its exceptional original condition.
