This listing is for the watch and box that you see in the photos. I purchased both together at am estate sale in Oregon where I was not told their history. Some research tells me that the watch was probably made in the 1940s. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is. I am not a vintage watch expert.

The watch comes in the Croton box that it was in when I purchased it. There is also a Nivada Gretchen certificate of origin that was in the case.  The watch is not a  Nivada Gretchen and I think that the box might not be the original case.

The dial is marked "Croton, Aquamatic". The back of the case is marked, "Waterproof All Stainless Steel Shock Resistant Selfwinding 69387 6m". I know how to open it so I have not provided photos of the movement.

Not including the crown, the case measures close to 3.2 centimeters diameter. The dial has a brushed steel or silver appearance that I find to be beautiful.

The bracelet is marked "Speidel USA".

The condition is much like you see it in the photos. I guarantee it to be a good working watch. The self winding mechanism is working fine. I have timed it for over 12 hours and not seen it gaining or losing time. I have not timed it to the second so it might be running slightly fast or slow. I have not inspected the movement so in that regard I am selling it "as is". There are a few extremely light scratches on the case. The crystal looks fine. There's a little soil on the outside of the box. There's a dark spot on the piece that holds the watch in the box. That piece is a little loose. The band might benefit from a little cleaning. Otherwise it is fine and as shown.

I guarantee this watch and case to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description; please look at all of them. I allow three business days for shipping, but I usually ship the same or next day if possible. Please note that the lighting in my photos is uneven, and there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors; different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs "approximately" because no measurements are exact, and some things are difficult to measure.

I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation. I sometimes purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often, but not always, ship the same or next day. Often, I have a double-walled box custom made for larger items, which might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually made from biodegradable materials.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends, and I might not be available to answer emails on weekends.

Thanks for looking at my ad.
