RARE. This is an antique Northeastern work basket made of wood splints. The swing handle has loops on the handle ends that interlock with ears attached to the body of the basket. The rim is single lashed. It measures approx 16" H x 16" W x 15.75" D. Unsigned. There are a few breaks as shown and wear commensurate with use and age. The wood has a wonderful patina that is unmistakably 19th century. This is a beautiful rustic example of antique American basketry! Unsigned. This measures approx 16" H x 16" W x 15.75" D.
