This children's hanky features fairy tale gnomes/elves/dwarves outside working in what looks like an apple orchard. Apples are pears are printed in white on the outer blue edge of the hanky. It is probably from the 1950s, but it could be 1940s or 1960s.
It is a small handkerchief - about 8-3/4 inches tall and 9 inches wide. The colors are still vivid and all the busy - and the not-so-busy sleeping man - figures are certainly cute.
As shown in the photos, there are some darker spots on the upper left-hand side. It is about 70 years old and was probably well-loved - and not put away as a collectible - so condition might still be better than expected.
