1914 Russian Royal Family

4 daughters of Tsar Nicholas II

I bought this postcard in 1987 and have looked after it ever since. 

I'm not sure who printed it but I do know that the photograph used was taken in 1914. It was printed in France, I presume, as the reverse says "Carte Postale". The style of the back is also very similar to the WW1 silk post cards produced in France in 1914. 

The card is printed on quite glossy card, not particularly thick but I would assume that wartime paper was not up to a high standard. 

Beneath the photograph are the names of the Grand Duchesses in Russian, and in each corner by their heads are their individual autographs.

I believe this is a very rare item.
