Andrew Pereny had worked at Flint Faience Tile in Michigan before he opened his own studio pottery in Columbus Ohio.  While working on his own, he made various hand-thrown and molded vases, bowls, and figurines from about 1933 to 1938.

This mother and child figurine in an off-white glossy glaze is about 8 inches tall and 2-1/4 inches wide at the widest point from her arm to the child's back.  There is detailed draping on her gown, around the pedestal base, and in their tiny facial features.

The impressed "Pereny Pottery" mark is just barely visible on the back of the pedestal base as shown in the photo.

At some point, possibly at Pereny's studio, plaster was added inside the base to make the piece more stable.  The figurine is in very good antique condition.  There is consistent crazing throughout the glaze and some tiny chips on the base as shown in the photos.

This is a piece from my own Pereny collection and time to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.
