I personally built this kit and it is an amazing display piece. It is very heavy, made mostly of metal. It will be shipped in multiple boxes and will require some minor attention upon arrival, mainly assembling the base back together. The gear mechanism is a bit sticky, but any handy modeler can get it going again. This is not a fully running train and is meant for static display with moving wheels on the bearings. I'm sure someone could convert this into an operating G scale loco.
