SPECIFICATION

The exterior is clearly reminiscent of the 750il that starred in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, I’ll be honest this was a huge factor in me buying it in the first place, it looks absolutely awesome and still makes me look back when I leave it parked up. It draws thumbs up and positive comments everywhere it goes.
EXTERIOR
This car is extremely well presented and a credit to it’s former owners, rare to find in this colour, specification and condition. The paintwork remains a high standard throughout with a few minor blemishes visible on close inspection. The 18” alloys have been refurbished and present well in the correct painted face with diamond cut lips shod in recent tyres. The exterior trims are all in good condition and the car benefits from a retrofit of OEM Xenon headlights – these have been properly coded in so no warning lights.
INTERIOR
As you open the door the interior looks like it’s done half the already low mileage of the car. The Dove Grey leather ensures that the interior remains tasteful but avoids the effect of Black which really shrinks the space visually. The steering wheel fitted is a rare pre-facelift ‘M-Tech’ steering wheel with single stage airbag, it’s slightly smaller than the factory wheel and feels great in hand. The dashboard features the cool 4:3 monitor with TV function (analogue) which functions perfectly as does the integrated on-board computer and audio functions. All of the plastics and switch gear are in great condition, likewise is the wood trim, only the gear selector shows some minor cracking giving away the cars true age. There is a phone handset in the armrest, which has been retrofitted because it looks right there is no system in the car – standard blank armrest can be included as can a full retrofit kit for the phone at asking price.
Look up at the headliner and you will see it has been total refreshed including the pillars, none of the sagginess you see in less cared for examples. Also present is a steel tilt and slide sunroof which functions perfectly. The highlight of the interior undoubtedly the rare and desirable Sport Contour seats, these are 18 way adjustable sports seats that give huge levels of lateral support and adjustment to maximise comfort and are really a must have in any E38.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine bay is beautifully clean and well presented. The 4. 4 litre V8 without vanos variable valve timing is a delight and starts first turn of the key with the unusual starting assistance that BMW V8’s of this era come equipped with. She’s beautifully quiet releasing a bit of V8 rumble as the revs rise, there is a little bit of rattling from the catalysts but this goes away as it warms up. This is a lovely example of the car and has clearly been maintained to a high standard all of its life, evidenced by it’s service history and it’s lovely condition.
There are no signs of accident damage and the car starts first time on the key and runs without issue. This car has been maintained by renowned marque experts BMR Performance in Turners Hill not only for oil changes but a full Inspection II was done when I first got it, and a Gearbox Service with Filters was done earlier this year to ensure reliable service for years to come.
HISTORY
She’s done just under 100k miles which is very low for one of these models, and has a valid MOT until January 2025.
This stunning example of an E38 comes with both of it’s keys and evidence of all maintenance work in my 2 year ownership, I’ve ensured as many parts as possible have been OEM BMW parts so no corners cut. I maintain my cars fastidiously and like them to be clean stock examples, with only period correct OEM plus modifications to enhance the base specifications, the only modifications on this car are genuine parts that enhance the look/ ownership experience. This car is still being used so the mileage will increase. The car comes with a lever arch file of invoices (which are chronologically ordered of course) as well as it’s book packs and the V5 in my name. This car has clearly been cherished by it’s previous owners and I’d love for it to go to another enthusiast who will love it like I have.
Genuine reason for sale, I’m a car guy and have a bucket list of cars I want to own. I adore this car and have spent fortunes to get it to my liking, I’m not desperate to sell and very happy to keep but the itch of other things never leaves! Swaps or px could be considered if interesting to me.
