This men's black wool suit is dated 1930 on the nose and it is in extraordinary condition! The jacket has a single button closure. The lapels are partially covered in satin and it has interior satin facing as well. It has padded shoulders and three front pockets. The sleeves are lined in polished cotton and the jacket has beautifully bound seams. The pants have two front pockets plus a watch pocket. They have a button fly closure, buttons in the interior waistband, a buckle back, and stripes on each side.

As stated above, this suit is in incredible condition. I cannot find any holes or even surface moth damage. The silk satin is in beautiful shape. The only thing to note is some general yellowing to the cotton linings of the sleeves. Seriously, it's astounding.

The jacket is labeled J.L. Taylor & Co. New York, Chicago. It has a label in the interior pocket that is dated, please see the photo. It also came to me with a note in the pocket that reads "Leslie Zimmerman's Tuxedo, wore at bicentennial 1976". As you can see, the interior label also reads L. Zimmerman so you have a bit of provenance with this one! The interior waistband of the pants is stamped "patented April 27, 1928".
