This 1880s era top hat and carrying storage leather hat box are in very good condition.

Hat has a small amount of wear on the brim edge.

Leather straps are cracked and dried out. Otherwise case in VG condition. Interior red silk in beautiful condition.

Interior of hat in VG condition, size is 21 3/8" , or  7 1/8, Medium. Manufactured by Collert for the Marshall Fields store of Chicago.

This hat was deaccessioned from archival storage at the University of Michigan and was stored with women's hats dating from 1910.
