A lovely Lenci girl doll, wearing her blue-ish hued organdy dresses.  The doll is approximately 12 inches tall and has blonde wavy hair.  The doll wears a bow on the right of her forehead.  She has painted blue side glancing eyes.

She has a muslin body, and her arms and legs are made of felt.  She has the typical Lenci hands with the third and fourth fingers sewn together.  She wears a lovely ruffled organdy dresses that has a hint of blue color.  She has her original under garments, socks and blue felt shoes.  Please refer to the photos for details.

From my research using the texts; Le bambole Lenci by Giorgi and Somalvico, and the Lenci The History of the Dolls by Nancy Lazenby, these dolls were probably made after World War 2.   Lazenby states "... After World War 2, however, a late 1940's catalog indicated that the 11-inch size of the doll was Series BC... This new doll face was introduced sometime immediately before or after the war.  The felt was very smooth and hard on the face, compared to the early dolls on which the nap could be seen on the faces.... During the war years, mohair for the wigs was in short supply and floss hair was used on some of the dolls.  The practice continued after the war, as many of the 11-inch BC dolls in a late 1940's catalog had floss hair."

The doll does not have a Lenci tag but it was also the company's practice to sign the base of the foot.  On the left foot of the doll, please refer to photos, you can see that it is signed "Lenci Torino."

This doll comes from a non-smoking home.

The stand does not come with the doll.
