introduction of Deco Art Style

The Deco Art Style, particularly popular in the early to mid-20th century, emerged from the broader Art Deco movement that began in the 1920s. This style is characterized by bold geometric patterns, rich colors, and lavish ornamentation. Platinum embraced this artistic trend, incorporating Deco motifs into their pen designs. These pens not only served as writing instruments but also as works of art, reflecting the elegance and opulence of the Art Deco era.

Design Elements: ARABESQUE PATTERN

Platinum Deco Art Style fountain pens are distinguished by their intricate designs and high-quality materials. Common features include: Arabesque Pattern

The Arabesque pattern is a form of artistic decoration characterized by intricate, flowing designs typically consisting of interlacing foliage, vines, or geometric forms. This style originated in Islamic art, where it became a prominent feature in architecture, manuscripts, and textiles. The Arabesque pattern is noted for its complex, repetitive motifs that often create an illusion of infinite extension, symbolizing the infinite nature of creation.

Key characteristics of the Arabesque pattern include:

Interlacing Designs: Complex, intertwining lines and shapes that form symmetrical and often repetitive patterns.

Floral and Foliage Motifs: Stylized representations of leaves, flowers, and vines, which are abstracted and harmoniously integrated into the overall design.

Geometric Precision: Use of geometric rules to create balanced and harmonious compositions, often incorporating circles, stars, and other regular forms.

*About the nib: PLATINUM NIBS"

Platinum Wing Shape Nibs were very successful and became a workhorse in the lineup of the companies. Platinum, on its side, showed this by implementing a wide variety of nib points in them. Wing shape pen nibs were one of the few specialty nibs that Platinum featured on their vintage pocket pens  Other specialty nibs such as music, script, or sign nibs and pocket pen nibs were created to satisfy certain kinds of needs. The nibs are completely rigid and typically used for writing with relatively heavy pressure such as carbon copy paper.

In 1866 people used carbon paper where, and when writing on the paper created multiple copies. But at that time ballpoint pens were not invented yet, so a business that uses carbon paper often such as the locomotive industry, for administration purposes needed a fountain pen, rigid enough to be able to write deep so the carbon paper can record many copies of the text

Hence, the rigid pen wing nib fountain pen nib is very sturdy and rigid and perfect for hard-pressed writers

The nib features a very interesting design. look like a vintage Montblanc nib design, but it write quiet sturdy and very firm! opstand the pen filler mechanism have been cleaned and the nib has been tested to assess any scratchiness or ink leakage and we have found that the nib performs exceptionally well, with limited scratchiness (even though the pen's nib size is fine nib) and no leakage was found on the pen.

*Condition*

The pen is in a good condition, there are very few shallow scratches and wear found around the body of the pen. The cap and the short barrel are Silver in color with gold color O ring and are made out of metal whereas the red grip is made out of resin. because the pen is used there is some leftover stain located on the grip area near the nib. though we have also cleaned the men thoroughly

Overall this pen is an A Tier Pen
