Rare original antique print from an 1870s illustrated journal. It depicts Candlemass at the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican (Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano or Saint Peter's Basilica). St. Peter's is a church built in the Renaissance style located in Vatican City, the papal enclave which is within the city of Rome. 

Candlemas (also spelled Candlemass), also known as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ and the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Christian Holy Day commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple.

The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 9 x 13 inches, with a caption below it.

The page is in excellent condition for its age.
